Cooking as a student

Cooking as a student

Are you struggling to find your next meal inspiration?

Moving away from home provides a variety of new experiences, including potentially having to cook for yourself full-time for the first time.

Did you know that BBC GoodFood has a whole feature on recipes that are ideal for students? It has everything from microwaved scrambled eggs to a coconut fish curry with rice.

Your health, while you’re at uni, is so important. Exposure to a variety of new germs can really hit you hard, so eating well and staying hydrated is of the utmost importance. While tempting, living off cereal and garlic bread is probably not the best way forward for the next three years.

Try keeping on top of your nutrition with foods that are high in nutrients and antioxidants, for example, fruits, vegetables, oats, and a variety of meats.

For example;

Scrambled Eggs – 2 Minutes Prep, extremely high in protein.

Tomato Pasta – 10 Minutes Prep, fantastic for a tight budget and full of energy-burning carbohydrates, and easily customised with any leftovers.

Sweet potato and pea curry – 10 Minutes Prep, a great way to get to introduce new vegetables into your diet. Full of flavour and inexpensive to make!

What is your go-to recipe? Are you a top chef in the kitchen or more of a microwave meals kind of person?
