A survey was taken by landlords and letting agents who let both students. The general public has suggested that 69% of landlords and letting agents prefer letting students over other renters, and 84% believe that students make good tenants.

Why? Well, one reason is because of the short-term contracts. Welcoming new students every year allows them to be flexible, and there is less financial risk with students due to student loan funding and also the backup from parents.

With properties operating as HMOs, landlords can benefit from multiple deposits and care taken with their properties in response to this. In reality, if students move into a property that is well-presented and finished, they are statistically more likely to look after it, so the investment is always worth it.
