Our launch at the University of Surrey
FREE for students, Roome is a Student Accommodation, Student Housing and Student Housemate Search Engine and Booking Platform in the UK. Roome launched in February 2021 exclusively for the University of Surrey students. Students can browse through 1000+ student houses. student flats, student studios and student spare rooms.
Our Beginning
James and Owen had the idea for Roome in 2020 whilst both studying at university just as they were about to enter their placement year. With the start of the pandemic, the issues of finding good housemates and accommodation for students continues to grow. Working closely with the University of Surrey Students Union, James and Owen brought forward Roome’s launch date so students in Guildford could find student housemates and student accommodation to assist them in what had been a very isolating start to the 2020/21 academic year.
With support from the University of Surrey Students Union and Surrey Student Enterprise, Roome entered the market and in our first 6 months assisted over 1,000 Surrey students in searching for housemates and accommodation on our exclusive student platform!
